BIO•IT WORLD EXPO’S “BEST OF SHOW”
At the CHI Bio•IT World Conference & Expo, a team of judges chose organizations releasing the “Best of Show” new products from offerings from more than 30 exhibitors.

NAME CHANGE
Gene-IT has changed its name to GenomeQuest, the name of its flagship IP product. President/CEO Ron Ronauro said the new name better communicates the company's mission to provide search technology to organize genetic sequence data. (See “The Quest to Make Sequence Sense,” Bio•IT World, Nov. 2006)
LIBRARY ACQUISITION
BioServe has acquired Genomics Collaborative, a commercial biobank of human samples and data. Previously owned by SeraCare Life Sciences, Genomics Collaborative facilitates biomarker discovery and validation through its Global RepositoryR, a library of 600,000 DNA, tissue, and serum samples. BioServe will grant access to the repository through its existing fee for service program.
