United Devices, a provider of grid and high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure software and services, announced a definitive agreement to acquire Paris-based Grid-Xpert, a meta-scheduling solution provider — establishing United Devices as the premium grid solution provider in two of the top three HPC segments: life sciences and manufacturing/design.

Isis Pharmaceuticals announced the extension of its antisense drug discovery collaboration with Eli Lilly and Co. As the initial four-year term of the broad, strategic alliance comes to its preplanned end, the companies are extending their relationship and will continue to collaborate on mutually agreed targets for approximately 24 months.

Pharmacopeia has closed a private placement financing of 2,470,000 common shares to institutional investors for aggregate gross proceeds of approximately $8.47 million. Jefferies & Company acted as financial advisor and sole placement agent for the financing. “Proceeds from this financing will allow Pharmacopeia to continue to advance its internal therapeutic programs,” said president and CEO Les Browne.
