ON THE LABEL
In a co-marketing agreement, Applied Biosystems and Invitrogen will resell a combined suite of labeling technologies consisting of Applied Biosystem’s proprietary suite of protein and peptide labeling technologies — iTRAQ and ICAT reagents — and Invitrogen’s newly launched SILAC metabolomic labeling technology.

BRAIN GAIN
George Casari joined ORIDIS Biomed as CIO. Casari, formerly a senior vice president at LION Bioscience — a company he also cofounded — will help strengthen ORIDIS’ position as “Austria’s leading company for target treatment solutions for liver cancer and metabolic liver diseases,” the company said.

TURBO WORKS
TurboWorx of Shelton, Ct., has achieved industry-optimized status in IBM’s Partner World Industry Networks and “can now take advantage of IBM’s sales, marketing, and technical expertise to develop and deliver on-demand solutions that meet life sciences customer requirements,” the company said.

NEW PATHWAYS
Serono Genetics Institute has licensed Ingenuity Systems’ Pathways Knowledge Base for use in developing internal drug discovery and development tools.
