March 14, 2006 | Network Appliance announced new products and services aimed at providing easier-to-use and more extensive disk-to-disk data backup and protection. On the product front, NetApp expanded its NearStore VTL line of virtual tape library disk systems by adding the NearStore VTL600 and VTL1200, which have a raw storage capacity of, respectively, 84 TB and 168 TB. On the service front, NetApp announced a new VTL design and implementation service, a disaster recovery design and implementation service, and a backup and recovery design and implementation service.
