Understanding the Complete Picture of Genetic Variation

Herbert Auer, Director of the Functional Genomics Core, Institute for Research in Biomedicine is speaking at the 2009 Bio-IT World Europe meeting, 6-8 Oct in Hannover, Germany.
Auer's team obtained sequence information of 6.2 gigabases from two drosophila strains, resulting in 25 fold genomic coverage for each strain; this data set was used to highlight challenges of and solutions for understanding genetic variation from NextGen data.
