April 25, 2016

A Survey of LIMS, ELN/LES, and SDMS End-Users

LOS ANGELES, UNITED STATES - Apr 22, 2016 - Strategic Directions International, Inc. announced the publication of Laboratory Informatics 2016: A Survey of LIMS, ELN/LES and SDMS End-Users.  This survey of 596 lab informatics current and prospective users provides a clear view of nearly every aspect of the LIMS market, and provides insights to preferences for electronic lab notebooks (ELN) and scientific data/document management systems (SDMS). Where appropriate, data is presented by industry, vendor, lab size and concurrent users.

As the demand for laboratory informatics software continues to expand, suppliers are tasked with providing a system that aligns with consumer expectations across multiple industries. With customers driven by the need for data organization and regulatory-compliant software, this report provides a great deal of insight into users’ perspectives on the LIMS, ELN, or SDMS used in their laboratory.

Through an online survey targeted to informatics administrators and end-users, SDi obtained valuable information regarding user opinions of current lab systems and suppliers, ongoing frustrations, functional priorities, and even future plans for implementing lab software. Survey analysis is performed separately for all three system types, but includes data on how multiple systems are integrated or linked together.

The competitive situation for the market has gone through some significant changes in just the last few years. In addition to customer insight, this report provides information on recent news items related to the industry, as well as an updated look at market share, market demand, and the industry’s future.

SDi's Tactical Sales and Marketing (TSM) reports are based on end-user survey responses focused on a specific technology. They provide valuable feedback from the customer, which tells the real story of current market conditions and expectations over the next few years. Survey data is presented, analyzed, and evaluated to assist the reader in gaining a clear understanding of the implications.

SDi' s Lab Informatics report provides insights for all levels of management, marketing, and sales personnel. This report also presents data on the size and growth of these markets, market shares for vendors, and descriptions and lists of products.
