Multidiscipline Teams Are Necessary

What is the history of your organization’s involvement in life sciences?
: Biomax Informatics AG was founded in 1997 by three scientists, Dr. D. Frishman, Prof. Dr. H.W. Mewes, and myself. Together we have more than 35 years of combined experience in bioinformatics. We realized early on that customized bioinformatics solutions are typically necessary to meet the specific requirements of diverse organizations. Therefore, we set up Biomax to develop efficient software solutions based on clearly identified needs.

What is your vision for the development of the life sciences market?
: By helping life sciences organizations save time with increased productivity, we’re also helping them to bring safer and better products to the market more quickly. We believe we make a strong contribution to the overall process of helping patients and saving lives. By continuing our efforts to fine-tune our in-house expertise and bioinformatics solutions, we seek to directly and indirectly accelerate the discovery process.

What organizational assets have you developed to serve this community?
: Organizations that outsource with Biomax bring a highly experienced and dedicated bioinformatics team to their research and development process. The specific needs of the customer determine the composition of the bioinformatics team we assign to work on a project. Our specialists include chemists, biochemists, molecular biologists, microbiologists, geneticists, cell biologists, structural biologists, developmental biologists, evolutionary biologists, molecular immunologists, physicists, mathematicians, bioinformaticians, computer scientists, and computer linguists.

What products and services does your company provide to the life sciences market?
: Biomax provides a variety of customized bioinformatics solutions, genomic annotation services, and specialized software and databases to help customers add value to their products and increase the productivity of their researchers. Our customization services include consultation, biological data retrieval analysis and integration, database implementation, proteomics, cheminformatics, gene expression analysis, metabolic pathway prediction, and experimental data management and analysis. Skilled bioinformaticians at Biomax are able to quickly identify data management and analysis needs and deliver solutions tailored to highly specific needs.

Biomax provides comprehensive manual annotation of entire genomes, including those from eukaryotic organisms. This specialized service is provided by a team of more than 20 biologists with doctorate degrees. Biomax has annotated several genomes for clients worldwide.

Our Pedant-Pro™ Sequence Analysis Suite is maximized for automatically analyzing and manually annotating DNA and protein sequences. Unlike single-gene sequence analysis tools, this software provides automated annotation of individual sequences and complete genomes.
