What is the history of your organization’s involvement in life sciences?
Phillips: The life sciences group was founded in 1993. This industry is comprised of world-class organizations and world-class people, and that is right where CGE&Y should be.
What organizational assets have you developed to serve this community?
Phillips: With nearly 500 professionals dedicated to partnering with global Life Sciences clients, and having consulted with more than 90 of the top companies in the sector—including virtually all of the world’s largest pharmaceutical firms and many of the leading medical device and biotechnology companies—the Life Sciences Group has become the world’s leading consultancy in this industry. Our people are the key assets of CGE&Y.
What products and services does your company provide to the life sciences market?
Phillips: CGE&Y provides three basic services:
• Management Consulting. This includes services that focus on business strategy, operations, and people and information management. The firm’s management consultants help clients make difficult decisions about where to allocate resources in order to deliver the maximum return on their investments. From improvements in production and distribution, including e-business strategies, to better reporting and quality control, clients develop roadmaps that help them gain competitive advantage over rivals and sustain that advantage over time.
• Systems Transformation. Service here fall into two categories: systems-integration projects and development of customised software or hardware for a specific client.
• Information Systems Management Outsourcing. The firm assumes day-to-day responsibility for all or part of customers’ information technology resources through Applications Management and Infrastructure Management.
What new products and services do you have in development?
