The Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative (MAeHC) reports it has entered into a partnership with Microsoft Corp., which will provide support for the MAeHC pilot projects to deliver secure access to electronic health records for approximately 220 medical locations and 160 medical practices in the communities of Brockton, Newburyport and North Adams.
According to Micky Tripathi, chief executive officer of the nonprofit Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative, the MAeHC infrastructure will use prototype architecture that uses the Microsoft Windows operating system, server systems and software, including the latest Microsoft Office Suite. No financial details of the collaboration were released.
MAeHC and Microsoft officials say they expect the collaboration will improve the quality, safety and affordability of health-care systems across Massachusetts, resulting in better health care for patients in these communities. Mass High Tech Report
