June 19, 2012 | An IBM Blue Gene/Q computer, Sequoia, has knocked off Japan's K Computer in the latest TOP500 rankings of high-performance computers, released at the International Supercomputing Conference in Hamburg, Germany. Sequoia delivered a world record 16 petaflops, knocking RIKEN's 10-petaflop K Computer into second place after a year at the top. HPC Wire
