HyperSense Makes Sense
Oxford Instruments Molecular Biotools introduces HyperSense, an in vitro dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) polarizer capable of amplifying the baseline sensitivity of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) systems by a factor of up to 104. The modular instrument attaches to any conventional NMR system and features a minimal footprint and single-user operation and is compatible with a variety of standard NMR solvents, probes, and spectrometers. HyperSense is directly applicable to 1-D applications, and the company anticipates that laboratories interested in examining 13C and 15N in their natural abundance will benefit, as it avoids time-consuming and labor-intensive enrichment processes that were previously a requisite.

BINDing Interactions for Drug Discovery Applications
The BIND system enables label-free detection of biomolecular interactions using protein, peptides, or cells for drug discovery applications. The system is comprised of the BIND Reader, a powerful development tool that can quantify binding in each experimental step, and 96- or 384-well microplate biosensors. It uses an optical effect to provide sensitive measurements of binding on the biosensor surface and incorporates a proprietary, nanostructured optical grating integrated into microwell plates in industry-standard formats.

Low-Volume Cell: High Conversion
ESA Biosciences has developed a low-volume cell designed for applications requiring high electrochemical conversion at lower flow rates, ideal for assisted ionization with mass spectrometry. Controlled by the Coulochem III electrochemical system, the model 5030 cell utilizes a porous graphite flow-through design and has a solid-state design that is virtually maintenance free, so special filling solutions and periodic cleanings are not required. When combined with a mass spectrometry system, the model 5030 cell has been shown to improve the sensitivity and applicability of mass spectrometers by providing enhanced ionization and increased signal from difficult-to-ionize molecules for mass spectrometry analysis, such as aryl amines, phenols, estradiols, and other oxidizable structures.

Arrayjet Takes Off with Microarray Spotter
The Aj100 Microarray Spotter produces high-quality microarrays with excellent morphology, uniformity, consistency, and robustness, using more than 100 nozzles to deliver samples to the array surface. Connector Block is a proprietary liquid-handling device enabling the management of up to 32 samples, feeding them into separate nozzles in the inkjet printhead all at once, without the risk of cross-contamination.
