Jeff Augen has resigned as president and CEO of life sciences software/services provider TurboWorx (see “A Prescription for Information-Based Medicine,” January 2005). He has been replaced by fellow former IBM executive Srini Chari.
The Blueprint Initiative announced the BIND Interaction Viewer (v3.51). The new viewer offers faster access to data in Blueprint’s Biomolecular Interaction Network Database and supports the publishing of OntoGlyphs (graphical representations of interaction networks).
Tibotec Pharmaceuticals and Inpharmatica announced a collaborative research effort. Tibotec will use Inpharmatica’s Chematica technologies to identify the molecular basis for the actions of compounds shown to have antiviral activity in cell-based assays.
Correlagen Diagnostics will integrate its sequencing software with Windsor, Conn.-based Protedyne’s BioCube System to automate its Genes That Matter testing service. Correlagen says the integration will lower the cost to sequence human genes for clinical diagnostic purposes.
