PE PROTEOMICS
PerkinElmer announced the acquisition of Agilix’s proprietary proteomics technology. Agilix has developed a powerful labeling technology using isobaric mass tags that allows for the simultaneous quantification of molecules, such as proteins, from multiple samples.
STRUCTURAL GENOMICS
Novartis has licensed SGX Pharmaceuticals’ experimental drugs to treat leukemia that has become resistant to other drugs including Gleevec and could eventually pay it more than $515 million. San Diego-based SGX, which went public earlier this year, will receive $25 million from Novartis in upfront payments and from its purchase of SGX common stock.
GENOME EXPRESS
Clinical Data has purchased Genome Express, a French genomics services company. Genome Express shareholders received total consideration of about $3.16 million.

Windber Research Institute will extend its collaboration with InforSense and license a customized integrative analytics platform as the basis for its next-generation translational medicine solution to be used institutewide by informaticians and clinicians.
