Nov. 15, 2006 | Sequenom has launched the iPLEX Gold Assay, designed to provide routine multiplexing at up to 36 times/reaction. According to the company, the iPLEX Gold assay provides the same accurate and high-quality results as its original iPLEX assay, but at a substantially reduced cost per data point, enabling fine mapping genotyping at 3.5 cents per data point. The assay runs on Sequenom’s MassARRAY Compact System, set to launch at the end of 2006, and is also available as a service offering through Sequenom’s genetic analysis services business unit.
