The Oracle Remote Data Capture Onsite electronic data capture (EDC) system is designed to accelerate and simplify the collection of clinical data and the deployment of EDC studies at clinical trial sites. The Onsite interface, which can be applied on top of Oracle Remote Data Capture v4.5.1, lets site personnel interact with case report forms (CRFs) electronically. It also performs robust online edit checks instantaneously in the data entry environment, invoking a discrepancy management module from the CRF to capture, route and resolve discrepancies. The CRFs are represented as icons and illustrate the status of the data (clean, verified, and/or approved), letting users perform a fast, visual inspection of each CRF. Users can back up approvals with electronic signatures to  assist in complying with regulations regarding Electronic Records and Electronic Signatures (21 CFR Part 11). Website: www.oracle.com

Tripos Inc. announced plans to support a robust open-source workflow platform developed by researchers at the University of Konstanz, Germany. A preview version of the Tripos Chemistry Extensions package for the KNIME open-source workflow platform is being made available today via download from the Tripos corporate Web site at http://www.tripos.com/knime. The KNIME platform, developed by Prof. Michael R. Berthold and his colleagues at the University of Konstanz, will enable Tripos' customers to visually create and execute scientific workflows based upon a combination of Tripos and third-party discovery informatics products.
