BlueArc Doubles Titan Storage to Four Petabytes

April 1, 2008 | BlueArc has unveiled a new top-of-the-line product for its Titan range that could find a dynamic market in the life sciences and pharma communities. The company has unveiled the Titan 3000 series, essentially doubling the capacity of its previous top performer for the same price. The Titan 3200 offers up to 4 petabytes of usable storage, with a maximum throughput of 20 gigabits/second and a peak performance of 200,000 IOPS (input/output operations per second). The fifth-generation Titan 3000 series has the same pricing as the former Titan 2000 base models, but offers up to twice the performance. The advanced blade modules are upgradeable, allowing existing customers to swap up a couple of blades on their Titan units.
