sciNote Announces Partnership with Gilson to Create a Digital Lab of the Future

June 29, 2016

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS. - Jun 29, 2016 - sciNote is an Open Source Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), that helps scientists to store and manage their research data in very intuitive and easy way. It is a free cloud application available to everyone, therefore it represents a perfect tool for collaboration amongst scientists.

sciNote has recently announced the partnership with Gilson Inc.a global manufacturer of liquid handling, purification and extraction solutions for the life sciences industry. This new joint venture was announced at Analytica in Munich, where sciNote and Gilson demonstrated cloud-based solutions to improve laboratory data reliability and reproducibility.

“This partnership is significant because scientific data output doubles every three years and scientists are having trouble organizing it,” commented Klemen Zupancic, general manager of sciNote. He further noted, “Good data management is essential for validity and reproducibility of data and our mission is to provide every scientist with a free and open tool for data management and scientific collaboration, so that each scientist can develop verifiable science and share it.”

Since Gilson’s mission is enabling verifiable science, at the sample preparation phase, through laboratory equipment (liquid handling, purification and separation product lines), integration with sciNote provides scientists with traceability from basic pipetting steps to the scientific publication.

Both partners believe sciNote is not just an ordinary ELN, but a unique scientific platform, where every scientist can safely store their data and share it with their colleagues. A platform that is able to connect with lab instruments and other software seamlessly, creating a digital laboratory of the future.
