Algorithm to Decrease Needed Number of ALS Clinical Trial Patients

November 13, 2012 | A Stanford University team won $200,000 in the Prize4Life competition for an algorithm to reduce the number of patients in ALS trials. Prize4Life Chief Scientific Officer Melanie Leitner said in the press release that ALS clinical trials must include many patients because the course of the disease can vary, but the winning ideas “will give us important new insights into disease progression in ALS patients.” San Francisco Business Times
