Bioengineer Sangeeta Bhatia Wins Lemelson-MIT Prize for Inventors

September 9, 2014 | Sangeeta Bhatia, director of MIT's Laboratory for Multiscale Regenerative Technologies, today received the $500,000 Lemelson-MIT Prize awarded to mid-career inventors "who have developed a patented product or process of significant value to society." Bhatia is best known for creating microenvironments of liver cells, similar to organ-on-a-chip technology, for drug testing and disease modeling.
