Markley CTO, Patrick Gilmore, is responsible for overseeing the company's state-of-the-art technology and cloud operations, including its Supercomputing-as-a-Service solution and Infrastructure-as-a-Service offering. Through his industry experience and leadership, Patrick has helped to extend the company’s reach and enhance business continuity for its customers. Prior to Markley, Patrick spent over a decade as Akamai Technologies' Chief Network Architect. Patrick’s group managed peering and capacity for the world’s largest CDN‚ that served approximately 30 percent of all Internet traffic. Patrick has also served as chief architect at national and international backbone providers, and the board of many Internet governing bodies and IXes.

Ted Slater is Global Head of Healthcare & Life Sciences at Cray, Inc. Mr. Slater is an expert in the application of knowledge- and semantics-based methods to pharmaceutical R&D, which has been his interest for the past 20 years. Over his career, Mr. Slater has held several positions in the field including Senior Director, Data Sciences at Thomson Reuters IP&S; Senior Director, Head of Knowledge Management Services at Merck Research Laboratories; and Vice President for Knowledge Engineering at Genstruct (now Selventa).

Mr. Slater completed his bachelor's degree with a double major in Biology and Chemistry at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. He holds an M.A. in Molecular Biology from the University of California at Riverside, and an M.S. in Computer Science from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
