Pathway Genomics, IBM Health App

January 12, 2016

January, 12, 2016 | Pathway Genomics last week announced that the app the company has been developing with IBM Watson is now in closed alpha release.

More than a year ago, Big Blue invested an undisclosed amount in Pathway Genomics to build a health-focused mobile app powered by IBM’s Watson’s natural language processing technology and fed by data from Pathway Genomics’ genetic tests. Since then, Pathway Genomics released its general app and in August 2015 began selling genetic tests through the app interface.

Originally billed as Pathway Panorama, the new app is now called Pathway Genomics OME. The app will combine diet, exercise, and metabolism data from a user's genetic test, health habits, and health tracker details with Watson's cognitive computing and deep learning capabilities.
