Thermo Fisher Scientific introduces the next generation Thermo Scientific™ Vanquish™ Charged Aerosol Detector P Series for more sensitive detection of impurities

Thermo Fisher Scientific has introduced the enhanced Thermo Scientific™ Vanquish™ Charged Aerosol Detector (CAD) P Series, an innovation to improve the analysis of the most complex samples, even those with analytes that do not possess chromophores. For those working in drug safety testing and new drug modality development, the Vanquish CAD P Series plays a crucial role in proving the quality and stability of products, helping support the safety and purity of therapies entering the market. By simplifying workflows, supporting regulatory-compliant workflows and improving quantitative accuracy, the Vanquish CAD P Series helps laboratories achieve reliable results faster to drive performance, confidence and convenience in daily analytical testing.

The new model delivers improved application-dependent sensitivity compared to the existing model, while a new temperature coupling mode improves detection of semi-volatile compounds to get the complete picture of the sample components. Other enhancements of the Vanquish CAD P Series simplify onboarding, operation and optimization of processes, providing a reliable and reproducible detection solution for use in any lab.

The Vanquish CAD P Series addresses the need for higher precision, improved reproducibility and sensitivity in near-universal detection within pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical labs, as well as in food and beverage, and fine chemical industries. The innovation delivers critical insights into quantity of hard-to-detect analytes and ultimately the quality of products.   

Enhanced sensitivity: Delivers better detection of impurities next to high concentration analytes in one run by higher signal height with similar noise (application dependent) compared to current products.  

For example, measurement of cholic acid and its impurity showed approximately 30 percent improvement.  

Flexible configuration: The temperature coupling mode offers users the option to fine tune thermostatting parameters for more sensitivity in semi-volatile detection.   

Improved robustness: The diverter valve and temperature coupling mode minimize the risk of contamination within the analytes path through the detector, ensuring high quality analysis each time.  

Optimized operating conditions: Users can record up to four power value signals in parallel to find optimized settings for their calibration curve and enhance the linear range response.
