Other Finalists and Their Products

Argento Scientific | Solvent Sentry X | Booth 517
https://www.argentoscientific.com/solvent-sentry-level-sensor

FPLC systems, like Cytiva's Akta, generate waste solvents. These solvents collect in containers under the lab bench. It’s hard to see if the containers have filled up, and there are lots of them, so sometimes the solvents overflow. That’s a safety violation with the associated reporting and cleanup. Our Solvent Sentry X hangs outside the waste container and uses periodic capacitive sensing to tell when the container is filling up. When the container starts filling up the sensor sounds and lights up. It also sends out a radio signal that’s picked up by a hub located a hundred feet away. Labs can pull data about containers from the hub and feed it into a lab management system. Monitor your waste tanks from anywhere on earth – no more surprises!

Demeetra | Cas-CLOVER | Booth 708
https://demeetra.com/cas-clover/

Cas-CLOVER directly addresses CRISPR/Cas9’s biggest challenge in cell line development (CLD): freedom to operate (FTO). With a restricted CRISPR IP landscape, biotech and biopharma teams face costly commercialization barriers. Cas-CLOVER provides a smarter solution with a CRISPR-based system that combines strong technical performance with robust FTO. At its core is a unique dual-nuclease design: catalytically inactive Cas9 (dCas9) fused to the proprietary Clo051 nuclease. This dimeric system requires two guide RNAs to cut, enabling high knockout and targeted integration efficiency. Published data show greater than 90% knockout rates and superior knock-in performance compared to Cas9. Cas-CLOVER’s gRNA design is intuitive and familiar to CRISPR/Cas9 users, enabling rapid adoption without major workflow changes. Its high specificity minimizes background activity, ensuring clean, reproducible edits. What sets Cas-CLOVER apart is its IP position. It can be uniquely paired with foundational CRISPR/Cas9 rights from the CVC, delivering unmatched FTO for CLD applications.

Technical Highlights:

  • Alternative to CRISPR/Cas9 with full FTO for CLD
  • Dual-nuclease mechanism boosts knockout and knock-in efficiency
  • Simple, CRISPR-based gRNA design
  • Flexible, non-restrictive licensing Cas-CLOVER offers performance, simplicity, and commercial freedom that give cell line developers confidence to scale
