Merck and Google Cloud announced a partnership to enhance Merck's digital backbone as an AI-enabled enterprise. This multi-year investment, valued at up to $1 billion, will deploy an agentic platform across Merck's R&D manufacturing, commercial, and corporate functions—and includes Google Cloud engineers working alongside Merck teams to implement Google Cloud's most sophisticated AI, including Gemini Enterprise. Eli Lilly announced the FDA approved Foundayo (orforglipron) for adults with obesity or overweight with weight-related medical problems. Foundayo will be available via LillyDirect, with prescriptions accepted immediately and shipping beginning April 6, followed shortly after by broad availability through U.S. retail pharmacies and telehealth providers. Scientists have achieved a world first by loading a complete genome onto a quantum computer. The breakthrough comes from a collaboration between the Wellcome Sanger Institute and the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge, and Melbourne, with Kyiv Academic University. The genome was loaded onto an IBM quantum computer, powered by the company’s latest 156-qubit Heron processor. Kali Therapeutics have entered into a license agreement with Sanofi for a tri-specific T-cell engager, which has the potential to treat a broad range of B cell-mediated autoimmune diseases. Under the agreement, Sanofi will obtain exclusive worldwide rights to KT501, a novel tri-specific antibody utilizing Kali Therapeutics' proprietary discovery and research platform.
