OpGen's Whole Genome Mapping Tackling Sequencing's Unfinished Business
Important projects once deemed impractical are now within reasonable reach and modest sequencing studies are done in a few weeks. Consider the ambitious 1000 Genomes Project1 launched in January 2008 to develop a comprehensive resource on human genetic variation. In November 2012, the project successfully completed its first phase – publication of variation from 1092 human genomes – a remarkable feat.
