  • BARDA supports development of novel AI/ML-based digital apps for visual and auditory symptomatic infectious disease detection

    I wanted to share news of BARDA launching the “Digital Medical Countermeasures” program to develop digital solutions with VisualDx and Virufy to aid in infectious disease detection and pandemic preparedness.  With this partnership, VisualDx is creating an app that leverages AI/ML-based image analysis and questionnaires to analyze skin lesions and identify pox-based viruses (monkeypox, smallpox, etc.), and can be modified for future outbreaks. The app will inform users about their skin conditions in real-time to streamline appropriate care and treatment options.
